Nathan A. Swain, D.O.

Dr. Nathan Swain is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician with a team and patient-centered approach. Dr. Swain offers comprehensive nonoperative treatments for back and neck pain, musculoskeletal injuries, and sports-related concussions. He joined the Flagstaff Bone & Joint team in 2021, and he does his best to help maximize his patients’ involvement in whatever they enjoy most. He is dedicated to using his skills in musculoskeletal and spine disorders to improve his patients’ pain and activity levels.

After attending the University of Idaho for his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, Dr. Swain earned his post-baccalaureate at San Francisco State University. For his medical degree, he specialized in osteopathic medicine at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. Dr. Swain went on to complete a traditional osteopathic rotating internship at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Oregon, and his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. He then refined his education through a year-long sport and spine fellowship at EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, Washington.
